For publication in the journal "Bulletin of the Karaganda University. Series Biology. Medicine. Geography" accepts articles: in the series of biology - only in English, in the series of medicine and geography - in Kazakh, Russian and English languages, containing the results of fundamental and applied research in the field of natural sciences and humanities..

Deadlines for acceptance of articles: No. 1 - by December 15 of the previous year, No. 2 - by April 15, No. 3 - by June 15, No. 4 - by September 15. Terms of consideration and review of articles - 60 working days and more.

Only materials corresponding to the profile of the scientific periodical are accepted for publication. They should be topical, new, have scientific and practical significance.

Formatting of the references list

 

Checking of scientific articles for plagiarism is carried out by the execituve secretary in accordance with the "Regulations on the verification of educational, scientific, thesis, master's and doctoral theses, scientific publications for plagiarism" of the Karaganda University f the name of academician E.A. Buketov. 

The author of a scientific article provides it in electronic form within the terms established by the journal publication schedules and in accordance with the requirements for scientific articles. Checking of scientific articles for the presence of borrowings is carried out with the help of "Anti-Plagiarism" systems» (Strikeplagiarism.com link https://strikeplagiarism.com/en/, http://www.antiplagiat.ru or https://www.etxt.ru/antiplagiat/).

Scientific articles submitted for publication in scientific editions should be at least 70% of the original text. In case of non-compliance of the article with the norms of originality of the work, the article is sent for revision with a printout of the verification report. If the article is not corrected or after revision it does not meet the norms of originality, the editorial board decides on the inadmissibility of its publication.

At the same time, the technical design of the article and bibliography is evaluated. In case of non-compliance with the technical requirements of the design of articles, they will be rejected with the indication of the main errors.

If the technical design and originality of the article are in accordance with the article is sent for review by at least two independent reviewers - scientists or specialists in the subject. The decision to publish the article is made in case of positive reviews and finalization of articles according to the comments made.

The Editorial Board has the right to reject articles that in its opinion do not meet the requirements of the journal, articles with significant grammatical and stylistic errors. The grounds for rejection of an article may be its lack of relevance, lack of scientific novelty.

If an article is rejected, the Editorial Board reserves the right not to discuss the reasons for rejection. In case of rejection of the article, this article is not submitted for review by the editorial board for the second time. 

Materials received by the editorial office are not subject to return. 

General requirements for manuscripts

Novelty. Authors' material reflecting the results of scientific research should contribute to the development of the field of chemistry in the framework of which this material was prepared. The author's material, which has an educational-methodological orientation, should contain new approaches, methods, and teaching technologies.

Logical presentation. The text of the manuscript should be structured in such a way that the readers could understand the purpose and objectives, theory and methodology of the research, the results obtained by the author and the author's contribution to the development of a particular field of scientific knowledge. Materials of educational and methodological nature should contain a rationale for the expediency of using in the educational process of this development, a detailed description of its content, characterization of the contribution to the teaching of a particular discipline.

Completeness of the manuscript. The author's conclusions should be substantiated and should not be tentative or contain generalizations reflecting commonly known results.

Presentation style. The text of the manuscript should be written in academic scientific style and presented in a literate language. All borrowed and obscure terms should be explained. It is recommended to avoid ambiguity of statements and ambiguous interpretation of the main concepts.

The article should contain a brief (for common methods) or detailed (for methods proposed by the authors) description of the method of statistical processing of experimental data and the results of this processing. Articles without sufficient statistical processing of data will not be approved for publication.

Requirements for the design of articles

The volume of the article, including the bibliography, should not exceed 14 pages of text typed on a computer (Microsoft Word editor), the minimum volume of the article is 5 pages.

Manuscript margins should be: top and bottom - 25 mm, left and right - 20 mm; font - Times New Roman, size - 11 pt; line spacing - single line; alignment - width; paragraph indent - 0.8 cm.

The material of the article is drawn up in accordance with GOST 7.5-98 "Magazines, collections, information editions. Publishing design of published materials».

The structure of the article includes the following sections:

  • (Title): includes the UDC index, information about the authors (initials and surname, name of the institution or organization, city, country, e-mail address of the author responsible for corresponding author), title of the article on a separate line to the left;
  • (Abstract): is executed according to GOST 7.9-95 "Abstract and abstract. General requirements". Obligatory components of the abstract: informativeness (the volume of the abstract - 150-250 words); originality (novelty of the article); content (the main content of the article and the results of the research); structure; conclusions. The abstract for all articles is given in English, Kazakh and Russian languages;
  •  (Keywords): at least 8 key terms or short phrases used in the article. Keywords are given in English, Kazakh and Russian languages. The abstract and keywords in the language of the article precede the main text of the article, abstracts and keywords in other languages should be placed after the bibliographic list of references;
  • (Introduction): justification of relevance, degree of development of the topic (a brief review of scientific literature on the topic of research is possible); formulation of the research problem; description of the object and subject of the research, purpose and objectives of the article; brief characterization of its structure.
  • (Experimental): description of the methods and materials used in the study, including methods of data collection, processing and analysis; characterization of the sample (if a sample survey is used); and);
  • (Results and Discussion): description and interpretation of the results obtained with figures, tables, graphs, drawings. Articles on flora and fauna abstracts are accepted only in Data Paper format with the placement of the main information in GBIF platform;
  • (Conclusions): formulation of conclusions on the basis of the obtained results; comparison of the obtained results with already available results on the given topic; assessment of scientific novelty and practical value of the obtained results.
  • (Acknowledgments): if there is a source of funding for the research (grants, state budget programs), information about it should be indicated;
  • (References): The prefatory bibliographic list is made out twice:

- «List of references» - in the original language of the sources (Kazakh, Russian and other non-English languages) is executed in accordance with GOST 7.1-2003 "Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description. General requirements and rules of compilation". References to sources in a language using the Cyrillic alphabet should be transliterated in Latin letters (you can use https://translit.ru, the mode is similar to MVD). References published in languages other than English, in addition to transliteration, are translated, at the end of the bibliographic reference in square brackets indicate - in what language the source was published, for examples - ([in Russian], [in Kazakh]).

- «References» – in English (formatted in accordance with the International Bibliographic Standard APA (http://www.bibme.org/citation-guide/APA/book).

The first reference in the text to the literature should have the number [1], the second - [2], etc. in order. When referring to a result from a book, its number from the reference list and (semicolon) the number of the page on which this result is published should be indicated. For example: [8; 325]. References to unpublished works are not allowed, references to Internet sources are allowed. For all publications that have DOIs, be sure to cite them after the corresponding publication in both reference lists.

  • (Information about authors): includes the following elements: first name, patronymic and surname (in full); academic title, academic degree; position or profession; place of work (name of institution or organization, locality); name of the country; e-mail address (e-mail).

Sections of the article should be coordinated with each other, the hypothesis of the research (research question), methodology and methodology of the research, results of the research and their contribution to the development of the branch of sociological knowledge, within the framework of which the research was conducted, should be clear from the text of the article.

All abbreviations and acronyms, except for those known to be commonly used, should be deciphered the first time they are used in the text.

Only those formulas that are referenced in the text are numbered in the article.

In tables, figures, formulas there should be no discrepancies in the designation of symbols, signs. Figures should be clear, clean, not scanned. Figures and tables should be referenced in the text.

Before submitting a paper to the journal, it is necessary to carefully check the general spelling of the materials, the correctness of spelling of relevant terms and the design of the text of the paper and references.

By submitting the text of the work for publication in the journal, the author guarantees the correctness of all information about himself, the absence of plagiarism and other forms of unauthorized borrowing in the manuscript of the work, the proper execution of all borrowings of text, tables, diagrams, illustrations.

Attention! Articles, which are designed in violation of the rules or contain a large number of grammatical and spelling errors, automatic translation into English, will not be accepted by the editorial board, and will be returned to the authors without consideration on their merits.

The editorial board has the right to request additional experimental data from the authors, if necessary (e.g., statistical methods, photographs of experiments, photographs of herbarium collections, etc.).

Regardless of the outcome of the initial review, an article may be rejected or returned for revision at any stage of the paper if gross errors, extensive borrowing, or erroneous citations are found.
